The gauntlet thrown down by the Left Front to the ruling coalition UPA on the 123 Agreement with the US on the contentious Nuclear Pact has been unbelievably picked up by the usually hesitant Prime Minister M Dr. Man Mohan Singh (The Left weighing its options, FPJ Edit) much to the chagrin of the Left Front who have been hoodwinking the UPA Alliance at the drop of a hat (or Sickle?). It appears that the Left Front was least prepared for a show-down with the Government on this issue. The Left posture was rather a part of the usual political noises it has been making in its vain attempt and desperation to retain its hard-core cadres ever since it had lent support to the secular Congress party. Dr. Singh’s stern reaction has, however, caused unfathomable embarrassment to the Left Front who does not spare any opportunity to indulge in US-Bashing.
But this time the PM has strongly worded his statement and shown the Left Front its political place in running the affairs of the nation. This must be an indirect but well-calculated move to control the left menace. This must help the PM in achieving a modicum reduction of the nuisance value of the left and consolidate his position. This will also call the bluff of the Left Front as to whose writ runs as far as the governance is concerned.
This single move of Dr. Singh has overnight elevated his political and personal stature. The Left Front is now finding it difficult to fight the damage control.

Kerala is another Kashmir in the making. The socio-political situation in North Kerala is alrming. But our politicians have scant regard for the existence of India as a nation. With pseudo-secularism, the Indian political parties are laying the foundation for the Islamic Republic of India which is likely to be born sometimes between 2025 and 2030.
The gestation period for political births is anything between 20 to 50 years or even 100 years. But 100 or 200 years is a neglible period for history. The East India Company and the British Parliament (read as British Monarchy)together ruled India for over 200 years. As such, 200 years for history is negilible.
India was already a Muslim dominated nation prior to the arrival of the Europeans. It was because of the British and the western education that India could re-establish the Hindu dominance but with a price of partition. After 60 years of independence and creation of two muslim nations carved of the Hindu heartland, the signs of another division or, the re-constitution of India as the New Islamic Republic of India is ominous. The signs are clear. The next generation of India may be deprived of the public celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi, Dusserah, Dipavali and other Hindu festivals.
The Arabs and Moghuls could establish their political supremacy in India not because the Indians were weak, but because the Indians then never realised the consequences of supporting the Muslim invaders to score a point over their own Hindu sibblings.
