There is also a major shift in the image of the Indian women as depicted in the Hindi movies of late. The pornographic materials easily available in the shops next-doors and across the Indian markets under the unwatchful eyes of the police are also contributing to this image-change-over. Some women themselves are also responsible for this undesirable change in the image of women.
As a result of all these factors, today, the women are looked at as mere sex-objects. Some sex-starved Indian males are no longer prepared to accept the Indian women as they are and out to sexually assault them at any given opportunity.
Look at the way in which the adorable heroines of Hindi films are vying with one another to dance in thinly cladded clothes in front of the camera. The item dance was once upon a time the specialised area of the Vamps. Today, the respectable heroines have no qualms in doing an item dance in a most voluptuous manner which would put the yesteryears' Vamps to shame. So these ethos naturally percolate down the society and have the fire power to make the ordinary women vulnerable to the sexual advances of the sexually deviant males.
Therefore, the Indian women need to be more vigilant and require more state protection from the aggression of the male-dominated the society which is presently more unconcerned about the security fire-wall around them.
