Jammu & Kashmir on the boil

It is unfortunate that the communal and regional divide in the Jammu & Kashmir is widening at an ominous pace in the holy Amarnath Temple Issue. The internal unrest has wider ramifications as an artful neighbour has been watching the region to exploit any fortuitous turn of events in and around the valley. It is very sad that the right wing parties have failed to do a reality check before venturing into the arduous road of street protest, road blockade etc in Jammu against Kashmir valley notwithstanding the moral stand in the issue. Unfortunately, the think tank of the right wing parties had only the electoral aspirations in embarking upon the agitation to secure justice for the Hindus.
A dispassionate analysis will show that both the government and the Jammu agitators have frittered away the hard earned sympathy of the Kashmiris and pushed the state to a brink. Perhaps, the Anti-India feelings are reported to be the loudest and harshest in the valley in the past thirteen years or so. It is seen that even the so called moderate Kashmiri political parties like National Conference, PDP have been distancing from their moderate and distinctly pro-India policies as well as demonstrated an intolerant public face and opprobrium of late. These events have yet again pushed the Kashmir problem back to square one with the secessionists surprisingly gaining an upper hand in the confrontation and whipping up anti-India feelings.
In order not to allow the eagle-eyed Pakistanis to fish in the troubled waters in the Kashmir valley, we should hammer out a solution to the imbroglio without any further delay and display the strength of our republic. It is incumbent upon all political parties to rise above the narrow and sectarian political agenda and find a solution to the issues at the core.
